What if I didn't finish college / university / my degree?

How to handle the education section on your resume if you didn't complete your degree.

Easy, don't stress! If you didn't finish your college degree or graduate, you should still list your education. Just list your major, relevant coursework (if you have room), and the years you attended. You can also include your GPA or other honors if you received any while you were in attendance. This creates the perception that you attended college (which is true), without claiming you have a degree, which you can discuss in an interview (which they are now more likely to invite you to since you check this box).

(And no, don't list your high school unless you're a graduating high schooler going to college.)

Here's how we would format the Education section of a resume with a started but unfinished degree (it's also ok to list a "Major" if you didn't formally declare the major but had begun taking at least some relevant courses):
